Bio Obit* | Walter Barnes Fred was a retired tomato buyer. He was a resident of Westwood, New Jersey who spent his winters in Fort Pierce for a number of years. Walter was born in Barnesville, a son of Thomas and Belle Barnes Fred. His [great] grandfather, James Barnes was the founder of Barnesville. Mr. Fred's maternal grandmother was a sister of John Bradfield the founder of the First National Bank in Barnesville. He was a first cousin of the late Mrs. Georgia McCartney.
