Biographical Notes
|
Bio Article* | Thomas McManus Family Don’t Know What Has Become of Him Erie, PA., Nov 19 [1895] – The family of Thomas McManus, who it is claimed, was shot in Chicago on November 7, have heard nothing of his whereabouts since being informed of his death by a telegram received the day after the shooting occurred. The family wrote to John Kelley, a former Erie man, but now of Chicago. He investigated the matter and wrote back that he could find no trace of McManus. Numerous letters have been written to the Chicago authorities but all with the same reply. Not the slightest clue can be found of the missing man. Frank McManus of this city is of the belief that his brother is dead, but thinks it is strange, [if he] truly is, that no trace can be found of him. Pittsburg Post-Gazette, 20 Nov 1895 3 |
