Peletiah Ashley (Joseph, James, Joseph, David, Robert), born 19 April 1771 in Westfield, Mass. ; died 5 May 1840 in West Springfield, Mass.; married 1 March 1796 in West Springfield, Mary Jones daughter of Ebenezer and Mary (?Jones) Jones, born 10 February 1774 in ---; died 30 September 1852 in West Springfield.
Peletiah Ashley settled in that part of West Springfield, Mass., that is known as Mittineague. He was a farmer, and also owned and ran a gristmill.

vii. PELETIAH, b. 21 July 1809; d. 8 Aug. 1811.
viii. PELETIAH, b. 12 Sept. 1811; kept a grocery store in Springfield, where he d. 18 Dec. 1857, unmarried.
ix. DAVID HALE, b. 21 Aug. 1814; lived in the homestead with his maiden sister, and at her death went to live with a daughter of his sister Eunice in South Deerfield, Mass., where he d. 21 July 1891, unmarried.
